Residential Window Films

Window film for Mumbai homes.

Mumbai flats are built with a lot of glass and not much shade. Residential window film handles the problems that come with that: afternoon heat in west-facing rooms, a neighbour's window ten feet away, a bright living room that fades the sofa, a balcony door with a child nearby. One film, or a combination, on the glass you already have.

Homes usually need a mix — sun control in the living room, frosting in the bathroom, safety film on the balcony door, a decorative panel on the wardrobe. A site visit lets us walk through each room and recommend film window by window, rather than one product for the whole flat.

Why people choose it

  • Cooler west- and south-facing rooms
  • Privacy in high-rise flats and close-set buildings
  • Less fading of sofas, floors and curtains
  • Safer glass around balconies, children and elderly residents
  • Decorative film for doors, wardrobes and partitions
  • Done on your existing glass with minimal disruption

How it works

  1. 1Site visit. We look at the glass in person — which way it faces, what the room suffers from (heat, glare, overlooking, safety) and how big each pane is.
  2. 2Film selection. A film is matched to your glass and your problem, and you see the options against your own windows before anything is ordered.
  3. 3Installation. Glass prepared and cleaned, film applied wet for accurate positioning and squeegeed flat. Floors protected and the area tidied afterwards.
  4. 4Aftercare. Care and curing guidance at handover, and a phone number that still gets answered if anything needs a second look.

Common questions

Do I need permission from my society?+

Clear, frosted and decorative films usually don't change how the facade looks, but reflective or tinted films may need committee approval. Check before you commit — we can supply a sample and specification.

Can I film just a few windows?+

Yes. Many homes start with the worst west-facing room or the bathroom and add more later. We'll suggest where the film makes the biggest difference.

Will my room be unusable during installation?+

Only the glass being worked on is affected. Floors and furniture near the window are protected, and the area is cleaned up afterwards.

Does film work on rental flats?+

Yes — film is applied to the glass without drilling or structural change and can be removed later, which makes it a reasonable option for rented homes if your landlord agrees.
