Privacy & Frosted Films

Privacy that still lets the light in.

In a dense city, privacy is rarely about blocking light — it's about blocking sightlines. Frosted film gives glass a soft, etched look that obscures what's behind it while daylight carries straight through. It's the practical answer for bathrooms, bedrooms facing a neighbouring tower, ground-floor windows and office cabins.

Frosting comes in plain, gradient, striped and patterned styles, and can be applied to the whole pane or as a band at seated or standing height. Because it's a film rather than etching, it's removable and can be changed if your needs or your office layout change.

Why people choose it

  • Privacy by day and by night — it doesn't reverse like mirror film
  • Light still reaches the room
  • Replaces curtains and blinds on windows you never open
  • Plain, gradient, striped and patterned styles
  • Full-pane or partial banding at a chosen height
  • Removable, unlike etched glass

How it works

  1. 1Site visit. We look at the glass in person — which way it faces, what the room suffers from (heat, glare, overlooking, safety) and how big each pane is.
  2. 2Film selection. A film is matched to your glass and your problem, and you see the options against your own windows before anything is ordered.
  3. 3Installation. Glass prepared and cleaned, film applied wet for accurate positioning and squeegeed flat. Floors protected and the area tidied afterwards.
  4. 4Aftercare. Care and curing guidance at handover, and a phone number that still gets answered if anything needs a second look.

Common questions

Will frosted film block all light?+

No — it diffuses light rather than blocking it. Rooms stay bright, but people outside can't see detail inside.

Does frosted film give privacy at night too?+

Yes. Unlike one-way mirror film, frosted film works in both directions, day and night, which is why it's the usual choice for bathrooms and bedrooms.

Can I have frosting on only part of the glass?+

Yes. A band at eye level, a gradient that fades from the bottom, or a pattern with clear sections are all common. We'll mock up the layout at the site visit.

Can the film be removed later?+

Yes. Window film is not permanent the way acid-etching is, and it can be removed and replaced if your needs change.
